During his high school years, Doruk represented Türkiye as a member of the national ski team in international competitions. After graduating from Açı High School in 2020, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manchester. During his undergraduate studies, he worked as an investor at a venture capital fund investing in research projects across Europe and the UK. He then pursued a master’s degree in Computer Engineering at University College London, where he focused on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and databases.
Following his postgraduate studies, Doruk joined the founding team of TuringDB, a London-based startup. He currently works on data and artificial intelligence systems for the industrial, biotechnology, and financial sectors.
Outside of his professional life, Doruk enjoys traveling, kitesurfing, and playing chess. He has also completed the 2025 Stockholm Marathon and the 2026 Rome Marathon.
Doruk believes that the most valuable gift of his education at Açı High School is the lifelong friendships he formed. We wish our alumnus continued success as he pursues his goals and aspirations.
